Holidays around the world

Florida 2011, Day 8, part 1

1st December 2011

Today was a fix it day to catch up on some of the Disney things we had missed. Before the trip I had every day mapped out almost to the minute so we could get everything in but Epcot was taking a lot longer there was so much to see and do there so we got up early and headed for Epcot firstly:

Just for funsies I brought my little trip Mascot with me that day as well:

We got there a little early and the main reason we wanted to go back to Epcot was to see the Story-tellers but since they weren’t starting until 11.15 we had a bit of time to kills so first we wandered through Mouse Gear before heading to Ellen’s Energy Adventure:

It was interesting to do once but don't know how often I'd run to it again. After that my mother decided it was breakfast time so we went to a little stand near the exit to Ellen’s Energy Adventure and my mother got a pastry and tea and I got some sort of pastry/pretzel thing. After that we headed for Canada as it was getting near story-teller time. We were a little early so I took pics while we waited:
Finally it was time for Papa Noel to come out and share his story:

Next we headed over to the French Pavilion:

First we met this beautiful little kitten:

We got took a wander through the shop to find the kidcot station and continue with our stamps and Christmas messages.

Then it was time for Pere Noel to tell his story:

While we were in France we decided to watch their movie Impressions of France before heading to our next destination. While we were waiting for the movie theatre to open I was watching a mother and son play that Kim Possible game with the phones and I kinda wanted to join in, may try it next time. In the movie we sat near the back and this old lady on one of those scooters came along and oh lordy she could not drive. First she crashed into the row of seats then into the wall then back into the seats back into the wall and this continued for about five minutes as she attempted to reverse herself into the area for scooters at the back. It was quite funny.
After the movie my mother discovered she’d lost her hat so we went back through everywhere we had been in the French pavilion but there was no sign of it. We moved off towards the Japanese pavilion:

The Japanese story-teller was called the Daruma Vendor:

After learning about another countries traditions we continued our journey around World Showcase:

Next up was China and since we had a little time to kill we went for a wander around the pavilion to find the kidcot station and admire the details and everything to be seen in this gorgeous pavilion:

Then it was time for the Chinese storyteller the Monkey King:

See those Bamboos at the side of that pic. It was that windy that day that one of those fell over during the story telling. After pictures with the Monkey King it was time to head towards Italy. We took a wander through one of the shops in the Italian pavilion taking in some of their fabulous Christmas decorations:
We got our kidcot stamp and message, got some photopass pictures and finally it was time for the Italian Story-teller La Befana:

She was a witch. It seemed kind of cool to me to have a witch as a Santa although her story was kind of sad.
