Christmas with Shamu

Florida 2011, Day 10, part 3

So we continued our wandering of the waterfront taking in all the Christmas decorations. We walked through the Christmas market looking at all the decorations and there was even some Christmas Characters out to greet people:
There was live music:

There were a lot of different cabins some selling decorations, some with carnival games and others with food. We decided to try some of the food as we hadn’t eaten in a while. I think my mother got tea and fries or some form of potato thing. I got an Italian Sausage:

And a Christmassy cupcake:
Take my advice though if you go don’t get food from the stalls none of it was nice. I think I threw half the sausage thing away and my mother ate half the cupcake! We wandered over to Bayside Stadium next for the Winter Wonderland on Ice show:

After the show we were headed towards the Polar Express when my mother saw Shamu stadium and people going in and got over excited going quick they must be going in for last Shamu show quick so we went in. It was all lovely they had Christmassy music, kids on the screen talking about wishes and all the whales it was brilliant.

About half way through the show it was dawning on me that because of the time of the last show this couldn’t possibly be the last Shamu show so I took out the map and confirmed it wasn’t and because we were doing this were missing another show and there was nothing else on after this except Shamu again, Ice Skating show again and then the fireworks that we wanted to wait for. So we got better seats and stayed for the second Shamu show it was that good. There was Christmas Karaoke on the big screen in between shows to keep people amused:

The second time round I got some of my favourite pictures from the show:

This one is my fave:

This is why you don’t sit in the splash zone because when the whale goes in the water they make a big splash:

When we left Shamu stadium there was a group called the Conductors singing in front of the Polar Express. They were a bit like Disney’s Dapper Dans except no cool instruments:

After that we decided to do the Polar Express experience but we took the walking version. You it through the a movie and then once the movie journey is over you leave through another door and follow the signs to the North Pole:

You go round a corner to this sight:
And the big C himself standing greeting guests:

We wandered around looking at the different animals:

We eventually left the North Pole and headed back to the Bayside Stadium. We got the end of the second ice skating show:
Then it was time for the fireworks. We sat downstairs in the stadium so the view of the fireworks ended up being a little restricted but it was still a good show:

After the fireworks we headed back along the waterfront towards the exit and of course I took pics along the way:

We got a taxi back to the hotel because the iride was finished running and got a little surprise when we got back to the hotel because they had decorated the place with some Christmas trees:

We went to bed and fell asleep almost instantly after what I thought was a fun filled day in Seaworld.
