Jingly fun in the Jungle

Florida 2011, Day 2, part 2:

After filling up on Mickey ice-cream we headed off towards Dinoland:

We spotted a couple of characters out but they headed off for lunch before we got to them. I went for a wander around the shop while we waited for them to come back.

Soon enough a certain doggy was back from his tea-break and we got pictures taken:

After that it was time to leave Dinoland and head off to find a spot for the parade but along the way we spotted Lilo and Stitch and I needed to photo with my favourite blue alien:

We wandered over towards the gates of Africa and found a bench outside one of the shops and sat and waited for the parade. Well my mother sat I took a stroll around the shop:

While I was looking around the shop my mother made a little friend outside. A mother with a handicapped child sat beside her and the little girl had a Peter Pan playset and was sharing all the piece with my mother. Once her sister and father came along they moved somewhere else to watch the parade. We stayed where we were because it didn't really get busy there and the parade came right past us. For the holiday season it was the Jingle Jungle Parade. It was pretty much the same floats as the normal Animal Kingdom parade but Christmased up!

Before we left after the parade a lady pointed out to us that we dropped our autograph book behind the bench. It wasn't ours though but figured it probably belonged to the little girl that Mam had made friends with because at one point their stroller had toppled over. We took it with us in the hopes that we'd see them somewhere else in the park and if not we would hand it into lost and found on our way out. After that we headed towards Camp Minnie Mickey
This area probably had the most Christmas decorations in the whole of Animal Kingdom. There was loads of different Christmas trees there each themed to a different character for example, Chip and Dale:
There was loads of characters around to visit as well and even they had Christmas outfits on:
I was very excited to see Thumper. I had tried to see him in 2010 but only got Miss Bunny because Thumper went off to get some carrots when I got there:

After meeting loads of our favourite Disney friends we headed to Festival of the Lion King. It was great as always and was cool afterwards that they left Simba and Pumba out at the end so the audience could take pictures with them. I had never seen them do this before:

Another thing I noticed about the park that day was the hours had changed from what was advertised. While I had been planning the trip it said that Animal Kingdom was open until 7 that evening but when we got there the park was actually open until 8. We were going to stay and watch the Finding Nemo show but the shows all finished early and it was only the rides that were open. We grabbed something quick to eat at the Flame Tree Barbeque before we headed towards the exit.

We stopped off at the Lost and found on the way out to give the the autograph book we found at the parade and when we explained to the CM where we found it he said that a lady had come in looking for it so he had her details and could now get it sent to her hotel for her. We were super happy about that because the little girl was so sweet sharing all her toys with my mother.

We got back to Epcot coach park at 7.30 but didn't really want to go anywhere before out bus at 9 so we just sat watching Christmas movies on my ipod while we were waiting. We did get up eventually to try find the lane our bus would be in. The hotel had told us our bus would be at Lane C 21 but there was no lane 21 it went from 25-52. We obviously looking a bit confused because the security guard came over to ask us if we needed help. We told him about our lane problem so he said he would check because he had a folder in his office with all the hotel buses and what lane they should be in. He asked us what hotel we were staying at so we told him and he asked what colour the bus was so I went Blue and at the same time my mother went White... eh what?!!! The security guard gave us a weird look as my mother kept going it was white, I'm sure it was white. The bus was navy blue and when the security guard came back out of the office he went eh yeah the bus for that hotel is normally blue and it'll be at lane 45. We did manage to find our bus and made it back to the hotel and straight to bed to rest up for another park day the next morning.
