I went to see Hop with my nephew it was one of those movies that adults will find different humour in it than children. I always think it's interesting to see just what the child finds funny as well though and where jelly beans come from was one of those funnies so to speak!
Hop is essentially a story about the Easter Bunny (bit late I know.) However it also shows how father and sons can have a troubling relationship sometimes. In the case of the rabbits the son wants to follow his dreams of being a drummer and the father is pushing him to take over the family business. In the humans case the father wants the son to move out but the son can't find the right job for him.
When Fred O'Hare (the human) and Eb's (the rabbit) world collide things get a little interesting but then why wouldn't things get interesting when you have a talking rabbit around!
The Easter Bunny, concerned about his son's disappearance sends the "Pink Berets" to find him. When they find what they think is EB stewing in a pot they capture Fred and bring him back to "Easter Island" for punishment.
Things go a little bit wrong however when the chicken's revolt against the rabbits. It then becomes a race against time for Eb to arrive and save the day before the chickens kill his father and new friend.
Cue the and they all lived happily ever after ending. Eb decides to take over the family business on one condition. Fred returns home for Easter dinner and his father is exceptionally proud once he learns of his sons new job.
I thought it was a cute, lovable movie with some funny bits and where do jelly beans come from?.... I'll let you find that out for yourself!
Hop along now!
