Harry Potter - The End

Since the beginning of Harry Potter's time in Hogwarts we have watched him battle everything from giants, snakes, dragons and Death Eaters. We've watched his friendship with Hermione and Ron grow from strength to strength. More importantly though we've watch him dealing with life in a wizard world where he is famous for being the boy the darkest wizard failed to kill. We've seen people come and go in his life and watched as he struggled to cope with the loss of each loved one. Now in Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2 all that comes to an end and Harry faces his biggest battle ever!

I arrived at an over-crowded cinema half an hour before the midnight showing. Some people were dressed in Hogwarts robes, others simply had a lightening bolt drawn on their heads to match Harry's famous scar. The cinema was hot and stuffy, the screen was crinkled at the sides and bottom but none of it mattered as the buzz and excitement of what was to be an epic ending for the Harry Potter movies out-weighed all the negatives.

Part 2 begins in Shell Cottage and Harry has just buried his brave friend Dobby, the house elf. Now Harry has figured out where another Horcrux is and must continue with the final task Dumbledore set him, to destroy the seven Horcruxes. For this one, Harry and friends must break into the Gringotts and one vault in particular but it's a race against time to find the object he is looking for and escape before they are discovered and captured!  Lucky Hermione is on hand for some quick thinking to help them escape.

Then with 5 Horcruxes either destroyed or found there's only one place left to go....
It's time to go back to Hogwarts!
Times have changed though and the darker wizards are ruling everything in the wizarding world including Hogwarts. However to some in Hogwarts Harry Potter has remained a symbol of hope so when he returns he is warmly welcomed by some while those who do not support are sent away from the castle.

Voldemort, the darkest of dark wizards, and his army of followers arrive and give Hogwarts one hour to surrender. Harry in the meantime must figure out what and where the 6th Horcrux is, with the help of a somewhat scary ghost! As battle commences in Hogwarts Harry, Ron and Hermione manage to destroy Horcrux 5 and 6 and now realise the final Horcrux is Nagini, which means the have to get close to Voldemort to complete their task.

They figure out where he is and when they follow Harry ends up getting more information than he bargained for from Snape, his old potions teacher. Voldemort then orders his army to retreat and calls for Harry to come to him so nobody else dies for him. As Hogwarts gathers the bodies of the dead and mourns over them Harry realises what he must do and sets off alone to face Voldemort.

Harry doesn't fight back this time and once Voldemort believes Harry Potter is dead he and his followers return to Hogwarts asking again for them to surrender and agree to follow him. However he is shocked to discover Harry is not really dead and Harry and Voldemort duel for one last time. There are extra triumphs for the characters Molly and Neville in the final battle and then it's all over!

Good triumphs over evil. Voldemort is destroyed and peace is restored to the wizarding world.

As with all the movies there are parts of the book changed or left out but it really doesn't matter as the final movie in the Harry Potter series is probably one of the best and ends the series in an epic manner that fans are going to love.
